Moses Cone Cancer Center, High Point, NC.

Cancer Symptoms:
Felt a lump about 2 weeks before mammogram, but dismissed it because it felt just like the right breast. Scheduled mammogram next day, because it was time for my yearly physical and I knew this would be necessary. No other symptoms.

Surgery Description, Dates & Side Effects:
Had bi-lateral mastectomy. Pretty tough surgery. Had 4 drainage tubes for a week. Most uncomfortable other than surgery site: Had to sleep on my back at a 45 degree angle and I always slept on one of my sides. This lasted about 3 weeks.

Chemotherapy Description, Dates & Side Effects:
Adriamycin/Cytoxan each 2 weeks for two months, then abaxane weekly for 12 weeks. Radiation follows with 35 treatments.

Hormone Therapy Description, Dates & Side Effects:
Comes later

Clinical Trials:

Had the PET scan and ultrasound today. Of course, I don’t know anything about the results yet. But, I’m not borrowing trouble so I am leaving it in higher hands! Thanks for all of your thoughts and prayers. Mine for you, the same.
